Scientists Warn Geo Engineering Can Kill Billions

Geo-engineering is an umbrella term for deliberate climate intervention that includes spraying the sky with aerosols to reflect solar radiation away from Earth in order to cool the planet and to save the environment and humanity from the effects of supposedly man-made global warming.  There is evidence that this program has already been implemented for many years using unidentified chemical aerosols, known as chemtrails.

A geo-engineering/ chemtrails experiment using a balloon to spray sulfur particles into the sky to reflect solar radiation back into space is planned for New Mexico within a year by scientist David Keith.  Keith manages a multimillion dollar research fund for Bill Gates.  Gates has also gathered a team of scientist lobbyists that have been asking governments for hand-outs to for their climate manipulation experiments with taxpayer money.

Geo-engineering is touted as a last-ditch effort to save people and the planet from global warming.  But the truth is that geo-engineering can alter rain cycles leading to droughts and famine that could result in billions of deaths!

Therefore, Bill Gates appears to be using his concern over global warming to cloak his real intent of controlling weather and/or depopulation.

Mount Pinatubo Model for Geo-Engineering Drought, Famine & Death 
The Mount Pinatubo volcano in the Philippines erupted in 1991, spewing 22 million tons of sulfur dioxide (SO2) into the upper atmosphere/stratosphere.  A 2008 study from Rutgers University based a model on Mount Pinatubo sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissions and applied it to geo-engineering; the scientists said that they expected overall global cooling, but some regions would experience an increase in greenhouse gases and warming, as was recorded after Pinatubo erupted.

Based on the SO2 volcanic model, the scientists reported that geo-engineering aerosols sprayed in tropical or Arctic regions are likely to disrupt African and Asian/Indian summer monsoons, threatening the food and water supply for billions of people!

Additional negative consequences include ozone depletion, reduced strength of hydrological cycles resulting in decreased river flow and soil moisture.

 

While the scientists, led by Alan Robock, who performed the experiments appear to believe in man-made global warming, they do have stern warnings against the dangers of geo-engineering.

2012 Geo-Engineering Study

The Max Planck Institute conducted a study of geo-engineering models based on volcanoes, but the study was unrealistic because it used climate models with 400% more carbon dioxide than the pre-industrial era.  However, their results showed that geo-engineering will cause a strong decrease in rainfall (a 15% loss in North America and Eurasia and a 20% decrease in South America). Geo-Engineering Can Cause WarmingGeo-engineering can actually cause global warming when tampering with clouds in the upper atmosphere/stratosphere.  The Gates-funded scientist lobbyists propose spraying sulfur dioxide 30 miles above Earth and the New Mexico experiment proposes spraying 15 miles above surface- both of these fall within the parameters of the upper atmosphere/stratosphere.

 

The troposphere is the lowest portion of the Earth’s atmosphere, extending an average of 4 to 12 miles above surface.  Clouds that are in the lower troposphere are generally thick white clouds with a high rate of albedo or reflectivity of the sun’s rays away from Earth that produce a cooling effect.  However, the experiments are to be conducted above this level in the upper atmosphere/stratosphere.

The upper atmosphere is called the stratosphere and extends as high as 31 miles above the Earth’s surface. The clouds in the higher stratosphere are generally thin, have a lower albedo reflective rate and act like a blanket that traps heat.

Both experiments propose dumping  SO2 in the upper atmosphere/stratosphere, creating a heat-trapping blanket that would theoretically increase warming.  This is the opposite of Gates’ stated goal to cool the planet.(Note: most long-distance planes fly at 6 miles above surface, in the lower atmosphere/troposhere)

 

What About the EPA?Given that the EPA claims that sulfur dioxide (SO2) emissionscause health problems and early death and that they are shuttering coal plants over emissions, you may be wondering why the EPA isn’t screaming bloody murder over Gates’ SO2 aerosol-spraying experiments.The answer can be found on the EPA’s own websitewhere they promote giving regulatory power over geo-engineering/chemtrails to the UN and/or developed countries that fund the programs.

 The EPA is abdicating power to international interests.Bill Gates’ failure to address the EPA’s dire warnings of the dangers of SO2 is proof that he is aware that the EPA’s claims are grossly overstated or that he doesn’t really care about the environment and has ulterior motives.

Global Warming and UN Control
Global warming is a ruse that claims that life on planet Earth is in grave danger- this alarmism is used for political gain.  Global warming is a hoax based on manipulated science from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.  The UN currently is assuming control over geo-engineering through its Convention on Biological Diversity treaty that declared a moratorium on experiments, except in some cases.

Conclusion
Geo-engineering is either a risky adventure to test ignorant theories or a scheme to control weather, water and food supplies.

Bill Gates’ record as a depopulation enthusiast supports the argument that geo-engineering is a weather domination scheme that may be used as a weapon threatening the lives of billions of people.

Alaskan Research Indicates Major Cooling Trend

“Defiant as ever, the state that gave rise to Sarah Palin is bucking the mainstream yet again,” says this article in the Alaska Dispatch.


The thought that Alaska may be headed into an ice age “may not be news to Alaskans coping with another round of 50-below during the coldest winter in two decades,” the article continues. Nor would it be news to the “mariners locked out of the Bering Sea this spring by record ice growth.”

“In the first decade since 2000, the 49th state cooled 2.4 degrees Fahrenheit.
That’s a “large value for a decade,” say scientists G. Wendler, L. Chen and B. Moore of the Alaska Climate Research Center at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

According to Wendler et al, the cooling is widespread — holding true for 19 of the 20 National Weather Service stations sprinkled from one corner of Alaska to the other.
In a report published this year in The Open Atmospheric Science Journal (link below), “the cooling is most significant in Western Alaska, where King Salmon on the Alaska Peninsula saw temperatures drop most sharply, a significant 4.5 degrees for the decade.”

“Researchers blame the Decadal Oscillation, an ocean phenomenon that brought chillier surface water temperatures toward Alaska. Some contend the Pacific Decadal Oscillation is harming the state’s king salmon runs, too.

“People have noticed the new chill in King Salmon, but slightly colder  temperatures don’t bother you much when you’re already bundled up for 20-below, said Don Hatten, the National Weather Service forecaster there. Most noticeable was that for the first time last year, the Bering Sea ice shelf extended south nearly to the edge of the Alaska Peninsula, he said.

Geo Engineered Snow Causing World Wide Havoc?

Can Snow Storms Really Be Engineered?

What do a mountain of data including recorded experiments, satellite imagery, lab tests of snow, and observations on the ground, and existing patents, say absolutely? Two known patents for the process of “artificial ice nucliation for weather modification” are posted at the bottom of this article.

The Chinese government has openly admitted they are creating ”artificial snow storms” but later backtracked after causing a billion dollars of damage to Beijing. If the Chinese government can routinely create snow storms out of what should have been a rain event, how much more advanced must our government be at this same process?

When monitoring radar images of rain during a storm, it is now common to see the rain “flash out” to snow for no appearant reason. No mountains, no colliding air mass, nothing. The “meteorologists” at the Rothschild’s/ military industrial complex owned Weather Channel call this “turning over to snow”. Why would rain just “turn over” to snow for no reason?

Engineered Ice Nucleation Cools Air Masse
Many of the snow events occurring around the US, even at this time of year, are amazingly still occurring at above freezing temperatures. Some are at temperatures of 10 degrees or more above freezing. How is this possible? Have the laws of physics changed?

It is done with various processes of chemical ice nucleation. This is the same as the first aid chemical ice pack. Mix the chemicals and you have ice. Whatever the existing temperatures of a storm and the surrounding air mass at the time the artificial nucleation is commenced,
temperatures are lowered significantly further by the nucleation process.

 If the nucleation process is started at far above freezing temperatures, then the temps can fall to near freezing or below as the process continues. If the region where an “ice nucleated” event is being carried out is already well below freezing, the temperatures will fall to still lower temperatures. If the chemical nucleation process is inflicted aggressively enough, in already cold regions, temperatures can be driven to deadly levels well below zero. Northern Europe is currently in the grip of what appears to be just such a geoengineered event.

Why Would They Do This?
First, because they can. Why would the global power elite detonate over 1800 nuclear bombs? Because there is no one to stop these experiments. Because there is no regulation whatsoever of the ongoing global geoengineering programs though many “outlines” for such governance exist as if these programs are not yet a reality.

 There are likely other straight forward reasons. 60 years of global climate experimentation have done horrific damage to the global climate system. The planet is warming, it would appear in large part due to the damage done by the ongoing geoengineering programs. Massive ozone holes and methane releases are occurring.

 Now it appears that those at the helm of the global spraying programs are trying to “cover up” the damage that has been done from the spraying by spraying yet more, and probably with an ever growing list of toxic elements. Isn’t this the true definition of insanity? Doing the same thing on an ever bigger scale and expecting a different result?

What Are The Consequences?
The problems that arise when ice nucleation is imposed on the atmosphere are many. Some consequences we can not yet know for sure, but what we do know is bad enough.

First, the entire  hydrological cycle is disrupted, and in general, greatly reduced. This means less precipitation in any form, rain or snow. Though the Weather Channel is doing their absolute best to ra ra all the snow falling in various locations, the fact is there is a “snow drought” in the US. Yes it’s falling, but there is not that much and it’s generally not that cold considering the time of year. The ice nucleated snow storms create the illusion of a normal winter when in fact all available statistics paint a very different picture.

 As we get through “winter” and closer to spring, ice nucleated events will become much more obvious. “Above freezing” snow events will become more and more common. Still, it is important to remember that geoengineered snow storms can also be carried out under extreme cold scenarios. Whatever the initial air mass temperatures, the chemical nucleation mix appears to lower the surrounding temperatures much further. Snow from artificial ice nucleation at higher temperatures is almost always “heavy wet snow”. This is a newly introduced term pushed by the Weather Channel and other main stream media sources.

The snow that does fall is toxic. There are numerous lab tests to confirm that the same highly toxic heavy metals named as primary elements in geoengineering patents are being found in this “artificially nucleated” snow. This poisons the air, soils and waters. The effects on the Northern boreal forests are already horrific. Trees are dying in mass and soil PH values are changing radically. The artificially nucleated snow can be incredibly dense and heavy, often causing major damage to trees and structures.Wind patterns and ocean currents are also being negatively effected by the ongoing spraying and manipulation of natural wind currents. (The HAARP ionosphere heater installations around the globe also appear to be routinely manipulating the jet stream)  This in turn is releasing methane hydrate deposits which threatens all life on earth. Photosynthesis is also being radically reduced. Extremely expansive “geoengineered” cloud cover results from the particulate dispersement. This type of cloud cover is often in the form of a largely featureless overcast sky.

What Is Such An Event Like First Hand
On 12/21/12 this author had to suffer through yet another ice nucleated snow storm in the woods of Northern California. In the days leading up to the storm, it was comical if not completely tragic watching the local TV “weathermen” trying to explain just how it was going to snow so much when only days earlier Redding California was almost 75 degrees. They tried to explain how the 30 to 40 mile an hour winds from the storm would mysteriously die down only over the upper Sacramento Valley and that’s when the snow would fall, even with temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s. 4-(diminished wind is also a known consequence of atmospheric aerosol saturation/geoengineering spraying. )

As is now the rule, the approaching storm brought skies full of jet dispersed geoengineering trails which covered the entire horizon in short order. A sickly colored light penetrated this toxic canopy from the early morning hours of 12/20. Natural clouds eventually drifted into view under the man made over story but they did not have the usual majestic appearance as they were “melted” into engineered clouds above.

 The leading edge of almost all storms are sprayed heavily. This is the “AR” of the storm. The “atmospheric river” and is a stated area of preferred spraying by the geoengineers themselves. The usual effect of this is a day or so delay of the storm and this case was no different. On 12/20 the local weathermen did there best to explain why the storm did not come in the day before as originally predicted. It “slowed down” they said.

As the evening of 12/20 progressed, the 500 ft snow level that was predicted  for that afternoon did not happen. It seemed in this case the temps were so warm that the big chemical “cool down” took more effort, more spraying. It seemed the geoengineers might not pull it off as by 11 pm it was still raining at the 2000+ foot level on the mountain top where I and my family live. It was still well above freezing.

Waking up at 5 am, I could already see broken trees from the massively heavy concrete snow that had apparently started some hours earlier in the night though the temperatures were still slightly above freezing. I quickly bundled up and went outside to beat the “snow” off the drooping lims of countless trees. This is easier said than done in the case of such “heavy wet snow”. It sticks like glue to everything it hits as it is in the process of melting even as it is still falling.

 It is not like the snow of my youth, fluffy powdery snow which easily came off the trees. There was, as predicted, no more wind. In the silence of the woods, jet after jet could be heard flying slow and low above the clouds. The snow kept falling. Into the night of 12/21, though soaked to the bone from the soggy snow, I kept up my attempt to save the trees on our mountain.

As the night went on, a sound that is very painful to me could be heard in increasing frequency on distant ridges and in deep canyons, somewhere in the darkness, the sound of trees crackling and snapping, being crushed under the weight of the “heavy wet snow”.

These are native trees. Trees that have adapted to the historical conditions in this region. I have been through snow events here that dropped twice the depth of snow with no damage, but this snow is different. Even the Canyon Live Oak, the strongest oak in the region, buckles under the weight and adhesion of this snow. It does not sluff off the trees but only sticks and builds.

Later in the night, the frequency of collapsing trees somewhere in the distant dark was almost overwhelming. The only other sound that broke the silence constantly was the continual parade of jets overhead in the clouds, so close and low during the storm.

By morning, half of the 20 inch depth of cement snow had already melted. The temperatures were still in the upper 30s and the snow had stopped. Countless broken and uprooted trees lay on the forest floor. Why?

For the moment, there are virtually no jets to be heard. None. Soon enough, they will no doubt return.

What Can We Do
We are in a fight for life, literally. Our climate system and atmosphere are being ripped apart. Every breath we take is tainted with the toxic metals and chemicals they are spraying. Every bite of food we eat, the same. There is no “organic” anything at this point as researchers from Europe and other parts of the planet  have recently shown. These toxic elements and other influences are being taken into all that lives.

Educate yourself on this most dire issue. Arm your self with essential tools for educating others. It is far more productive to hand someone some credible information they can review at their leisure than to corner them with a rant that only puts up their defenses. The Mississippi River Is Drying Up

The worst drought in more than 50 years is having a devastating impact on the Mississippi River.

 

The Mississippi has become very thin and very narrow, and if it keeps on dropping there is a very real possibility that all river traffic could get shut down. And considering the fact that approximately 60 percent of our grain, 22 percent of our oil and natural gas, and andone-fifth of our coal travel down the Mississippi River, that would be absolutely crippling for our economy.

It has been estimated that if all Mississippi River traffic was stopped that it would cost the U.S. economy 300 million dollars a day. So far most of the media coverage of this historic drought has focused on the impact that it is having on farmers and ranchers, but the health of the Mississippi River is also absolutely crucial to the economic success of this nation, and right now the Mississippi is in incredibly bad shape.

In some areas the river is already 20 feet below normal and the water is expected to continue to drop. If we have another 12 months of weather ahead of us similar to what we have seen over the last 12 months then the mighty Mississippi is going to be a complete and total disaster zone by this time next year.

Most Americans simply do not understand how vitally important the Mississippi River is to all of us. If the Mississippi River continues drying up to the point where commercial travel is no longer possible, it would be an absolutely devastating blow to the U.S. economy.

Unfortunately, vast stretches of the Mississippi are already dangerously low. The following is an excerpt from a transcript of a CNN report that aired on August 14th….

You might think this is some kind of desert just outside of Memphis. It’s not. I’m actually standing on the exposed bottom of the Mississippi River. That’s how dramatic the drought impact is being felt here. Hard to believe, a year ago we were talking about record flooding. Now, they are worried about a new kind of record: a record low.

The river was three miles wide here, it’s now down to three tenths of a mile. And that’s causing all kinds of problems. There are some benefits, I mean, take a look over here: new beach front. In fact, some quip that now the Mississippi River has more beaches than the entire state of Florida, which would be funny if it didn’t have an impact on trade.

A lot of stuff we use goes up and down the Mississippi River. We are talking steel, coal, ore, grain. The problem is now a lot of those barges have had to lighten their loads, and even doing that, they are still running aground. There is a real fear that there could be a possibility of closing the Mississippi River. If that happens, well, all that product that used to be carried cheaply by barge is now going to be carried more expensively by truck or train. And guess who is going to pay for all of that.

It really is amazing that last year we were talking about historic flooding along the Mississippi and this year we are talking about the Mississippi possibly drying up.

As I mentioned earlier, there are some areas along the river that are already 20 feet below normal levels. The following is from a recent article posted on inquisitr.com….

Just outside of Memphis the river is 13 feet below normal depth while the National Weather Service says Vicksburg, Mississippi is 20 feet below normal levels. Overall the Mississippi is 13 feet below normal averages for this time of year.

The drying up river is forcing barge, tugboat and towboat operators to navigate narrower and more shallow spots in the river, slowing their speeds as they pass dangerously close to one another. In some parts of the Mississippi the river is so narrow that one-way traffic is being utilized.

A lot of barges have been forced to go with greatly reduced loads so that they will sit higher in the river, and other commercial craft have been forced to stop operating completely.

For example, the Mississippi has dropped so low at this point that the famous American Queen Steamboat can no longer safely navigate the river.

Down south, the Mississippi River has gotten so low that saltwater is actually starting to move upriver. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is fighting hard to keep that contained.

Other waterways in the middle part of the country are in even worse shape.

For example, a 100 mile stretch of the Platte River has already dried up. Millions of fish are dying as rivers and streams all over the country continue to get shallower and warmer as a result of the ongoing drought.

The last time the condition of the Mississippi River was this bad was back in 1988. At that time, a lot of barge traffic was stopped completely and the shipping industry lost approximately a billion dollars.

If a similar thing were to happen now, the consequences could potentially be far worse.

As I wrote about recently, a standstill along the Mississippi would cost the U.S. economy about 300 million dollars a day.

In fact, one towing company that works on the Mississippi says that it has already been losing about $500,000 a month since May.

In the end, who is going to pay for all of this?

You and I will.

In fact, this crisis could end up costing American consumers a whole lot of money….

So here’s the math. If you want to raise the average barge one inch above the water, you’ve got to take off 17-tons of cargo. To raise it a foot, you’re talking 200 tons.

And since, according to the American Waterways Operators, moving cargo by river is $11 a ton cheaper than by train or truck. The more that now has to be moved on land, well, the more the costs go up. Steven Barry says, “And, eventually, the consumer’s gonna pay that price somewhere along the line.”

And considering the fact that we are already facing a potential food crisis due to the drought, the last thing we need is for the Mississippi River to dry up.

So is there any hope on the horizon for the Mississippi?

Unfortunately, things do not look promising.

The fall and the winter are typically drier than the summer is along the Mississippi River. That means that conditions along the river could actually get even worse in the months ahead. The following is from a recent Time Magazine article….

But without significant rainfall, which isn’t in any long-range forecasts, things are likely to get worse. As summer turns to fall, the weather tends to get drier. Lower temperatures generally mean fewer thunderstorms and less rainfall.

“Take away the thunderstorm mechanism and you run into more serious problems,” says Alex Sosnowski, expert senior meteorologist for AccuWeather.com. And while droughts tend to be a temporary setback, longer-range forecasts are troublesome. Sosnowski says he is anticipating an El Niño weather pattern next year, which would mean below-normal snowfall and above-average temperatures.

Let us hope and pray that we don’t see another 12 months similar to the 12 months that we have just been through.

The U.S. economy is already in bad enough shape.

We don’t need any more major problems on top of what we are already dealing with.

The worst drought in a generation is hitting farmers across America's corn belt far harder than government projections and forcing them to a heart-breaking decision: harvest what's left of their shrivelled acres or abandon their entire crop.

For Mike Buis, pictured, who farms in west-central Indiana, the most he could hope for, his best-case scenario, was saving one-third of his crop.

"I'd be tickled to death if it would make 50 bushels (1.5 tonnes), if we don't have rain," he said. Most of his crop was a write-off, and Buis was already looking ahead to next year.

"Some stuff technically is not going to be worth the combine bill to harvest it," he said. "This is my 49th crop, and I have never had a year like this."

Such individual calculations are replicated thousands of times across the 1,336 counties – about a third of the country – that are now officially a disaster zone, because of a brutal combination of triple-digit (40C) temperatures and prolonged drought. Scientists see both as evidence of climate change.

Buis has seen no rain on his 3,200 acres (1,300 hectares) since 28 May. Some stalks are chin-high – but with no ears of corn. Others are as squat as pineapple fronds. Soy bean that should be spread out at knee-level barely graze the shin.

The additional crop failures are set to push corn and soy bean prices upward of today's all-time high. Corn prices have risen by about 40% in the last few weeks, soybeans by about 25%.

That, in time, will mean higher prices for milk, poultry and meat for American consumers, and misery – possibly chaos and unrest – in African and Latin American countries, which depend on imported grains, food security experts say.

The US government warned this week that a third of the corn and soybean crop in drought-stricken areas was in poor condition.

But in Indiana, at the centre of the drought, they say the true extent of the crop losses will be far higher.

"Everybody that has walked their fields knows it's going to be worse than what they thought. That's just a universal across-the-board deal," said Norv Gottula, who owns the Cloverdale Agri Centre grain dealership.

"We've had droughts like this in '83 and in '88, but this here is more severe and it's going to be more wide reaching than before. One, because I think the actual crop loss and devastation is going to be worse, and two, because there is so much more money involved in putting up a crop," he said.
Indiana, drought, corn

Farmers and local businesses in Cloverdale are already cutting back. One of Gottula's customers slaughtered her goats, rather than pay the extra cost to feed them. Livestock farmers are killing hogs and cattle, because they can't afford the higher-priced corn to raise them. The local ethanol plant has halted production, as have other plants across the midwest making fuel from corn and soy beans. The local horse rescue shelter took in three extra animals, because their owners can't feed them.

Sales of tractors and other farm machinery are down by 70%, said Dave Dorsett of Reynolds farm equipment in Martinville. "As soon as this drought hit, it has taken a drastic fall from lawn mowers all the way through the ag equipment," he said.

"We've even had guys putting the money down and letting the money go just so they can get out of their contracts."

Similar shockwaves are spreading throughout other rural communities, said Ernie Goss, an economics professor at Omaha's Creighton University, and who conducts a regular survey of rural communities in 10 midwestern states. Nearly a third of bank managers said farmers' borrowing was up, Goss found. Two-thirds said ethanol and biodiesel plants were cutting back or shutting down completely, and consumer confidence had fallen sharply even in farm communities that have so far been relatively recession proof.

"There has been quite a lot of boasting that unemployment is at less than half the national numbers in Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota – a lot of that is traced to farming," Goss said. "In some parts of the region it could be some of the toughest times since the 1980s."

And this is just the beginning. Most analysts expect the real food price shock to hit late this winter or early next year – and warn that it will be far worse than the government's current estimates.

The worst is yet to come

Some analysts, such as the Earth Policy Institute's Lester Brown, say the US department of agriculture has underestimated the shortfall in the corn and soy bean harvest.

Brown says he expects this year's harvest to drop by 96m tonnes – about double the official estimate.

Meteorological forecasters, such as Accuweather, have also warned corn yields will be much lower than the USDA projections.

Farmers in areas of severe drought, like this stretch of Indiana, are also pessimistic. "We have had crop insurance guys in our area seeing from 10 bushels an acre to 30 bushels an acre (130kg/hectare), and those are 200 bushel an acre farms," said Dorsett.

Department of agriculture officials say America will still produce a reasonable corn crop – farmers planted more than 96m acres of corn this year, the most in 75 years. Some of those acres are in areas that are not affected by drought, the officials say.

But almost everybody agrees: the worst is yet to come, especially for those countries struggling to pay world prices for corn and soybeans. Along with prices for milk and meat, due to rise because of the increased costs of animal feed, consumers can expect price rises for processed foods that use corn and soy.

American consumers, however, are unlikely to feel the pain as deeply as those in poor countries.

"The poorest countries bidding for grain are very sensitive," said Sophia Murphy of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy. "They have no reserves of currency to pay more or bid higher when prices go up."

Low income people in the developing world also spend a bigger share of their income on food, making them more vulnerable to price shocks, as during the 2008 food crisis.

"The low income countries, wherever they are in the world, consumers spend larest fraction of their income on food: sub-Saharan African, parts of which have corn or maize as their staple, South America from mexico south," said Robert Thompson, a food security expert at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

'It's a guessing game'

In the corn belt, however, they are already looking to next year. Do they roll the dice again on corn? David Rhea, Buis's cousin, stands to lose a considerable amount on this year's failed harvest because he does not have full insurance coverage.

To his mind, this drought properly started last year, when July brought blast-furnace temperatures. Winter brought very little snow or rain. Then came June's heatwave, earlier than last year's run of triple-digit days, and of even longer duration.

Is it evidence of climate change? "I'd have to ask Al Gore," Rhea joked.

But the question is growing impossible to ignore, even in strongly Republican parts of rural Indiana. Another year or two like this one and farmers are going to have to change their practices, Buis said.

"I think it is a historic shift," said Dorsett. "There is not question that that is shifting, based on climate, based on conditions, based on crops. We have had 70 or 80 degree (21-27C) weather at the end of February and in March. That is what you have in Arizona."

But he's less clear on how farmers should respond. "It's very unstable. It's a guessing game. Do we go ahead and come back and plant? Do we just go with the same old planting techniques we've done for the last 50 years and roll the diece again, or do we try to beat Mother Nature," he said. "It's a tough one."

For decades, the heartland of America has been the breadbasket of the world. Unfortunately, those days will shortly come to an end. Number one, the Ogallala Aquifer is being depleted at an astounding pace. The Ogallala Aquifer is one of the largest bodies of fresh water in the entire world, and water from it currently irrigates more than 15 million acres of crops. When that water is gone we will be in a world of hurt. Secondly, drought conditions have become the “new normal” in many areas of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and other states in the middle part of the country.

650 Dead In Record Breaking European Snow/Cold

More than 650 people have died during a record-breaking cold snap in Eastern Europe, as officials in the Czech Republic blamed two massive car crashes on blinding snow.

Since the end of January, the region has been pummeled by the deep freeze, which has brought the heaviest blizzards in recent memory. Tens of thousands have been trapped in often-freezing homes and villages by walls of snow and unpassable roads, and officials have struggled to reach out to the vulnerable with emergency food airlifts.

Authorities in Russia and Ukraine alone reported Wednesday that more than 300 people have died in the bitter cold.

About 100 damaged cars blocked a major highway in the Czech Republic connecting the capital, Prague, with the eastern part of the country and Slovakia. It is not clear if there were any fatalities.

Seven people were injured in two separate accidents, authorities said. Some 40 cars crashed before midday Wednesday during a heavy snowstorm 188 miles east of Prague, injuring two people. Dozens of vehicles, including a bus, were involved in a separate crash southeast of Prague, which injured five, according to Czech public CT24 television.

Authorities in Russia said 205 people have died this year in the frigid cold, while Ukraine has had 112 cold fatalities and Poland had 107. Seven people have died in Romania in the past 24 hours, bringing the total there to 86 deaths. In Lithuania, there have been 23 deaths. Deaths were also reported in Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia.

In hard-hit Romania, some 23,000 people remain isolated in 225 eastern communities where more than one week of heavy snow has blocked roads and wreaked havoc on the rail network. Residents were worried that their houses could collapse under the heavy snow as authorities struggled to bring them food, water, medicine and wood.

A flight instructor flew his homemade powered parachute - a motorised vehicle that flies at low altitude - making several 45 minute-trips to deliver bread and canned food to people who have been cut off for days.

A five-month-old girl with severe pneumonia was taken to a hospital early Wednesday by sled and an army vehicle after authorities struggled for six hours to reach her.

Romanian farmers - faced with up to 15 feet of snow in some areas this week - are concerned about their sheep, goats, horses and cows. One farmer said he dug his pigs out of the snow and brought them into his home.

Japan has endured record snowfall since late December on the island of Hokkaido, where there are 6 to 16 feet (2 to 5 meters) of snow from the coast heading to the mountains.

Record snowfall – Deadly in the north

Record snowfalls throughout the week in northern Japan have caused avalanches, leaving more than 80 victims. A snow depth of nearly 10 feet (3 meters) covered prefectures on the coastline of the Sea of Japan, on the northern island of Honshu and Hokkaido.

In Sukayu prefecture (Aomori Prefecture) or Hijiori (Yamagata Prefecture) and Aomori (Honshu), the snowpack is nearly 4 feet high.

The center of Honshu Island, Hyogo Prefecture in the Kyoto area, received 83 inches (2 meters) of snow in 48 hours, completely paralyzing traffic.

That’s almost 7 feet! Seven feet of snow would completely bury the average man. That would indeed stop traffic dead in its tracks.

Some snowdrifts almost 15 meters high

Huge snowdrifts have formed in places, especially in the center of the island of Hokkaido. Some reach almost 15 meters (48.75 ft) high, “equivalent to the height of a 6 storey building.”

(This would be closer to the height of “only” a 5-story building in the U.S. But I still don’t think I’d want to be buried beneath it.)

Hundreds Of Italian Barns Collapse Under Record Snows, Millions Of Farm Animals At Risk

At least one million farm animals in danger of running out of food, says this report out of Italy.

More than ten thousand sparrows, finches and other birds along with deer have been victims of bad weather, and the tragedy on farms is continually updated between the dead cows, sheep, horses, rabbits and chickens, because of hundreds of barns collapsed.

The new wave of snowfall and frost is threatening at least one million farm animals in danger of running out of food because the snow is hampering feed deliveries.

In addition, farmers are throwing away the milk because they can’t deliver it to town.

The cold has dramatically reduced dairy cow production by an average of 15 percent … and has “reduced by 4 million gallons per day that are lacking in the cheese and Italian tables”.

The animals consume more energy (eat more) to defend against the cold, while reducing the yield. This behavior even applies to hens, who lay up to 20 percent fewer eggs per day.

The big chill has also caused many abortions among sheep

Europe's Greatest River, The Danube, Freezes Over

Thick ice closed vast swaths of the Danube on Thursday, crippling shipping on Europe's busiest waterway, as the death toll from bitter cold across the continent rose to at least 460.

As it has every day for nearly two weeks, the brutal cold claimed lives in several countries and killed dozens more in weather-related accidents.

The 2,860-kilometre Danube, which flows through 10 countries and is vital for transport, power, irrigation, industry and fishing, was wholly or partially blocked from Austria to its mouth on the Black Sea.

Navigation was impossible or restricted in Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and Austria, as ice covered the river or formed dangerous floes in shipping lanes.

An official from the Serbian economy ministry said the commercial repercussions "could be very bad," while infrastructure ministry official Pavle Galico said shipping would not resume for 10 days.

Bulgarian authorities, who have banned all navigation on the river, reported 224 vessels stuck in ports, and Ukrainian rescuers in Croatia reached three crew members on a ship trapped in the ice since Friday.

Temperatures in Bulgaria dropped to a new record low Thursday of -28.6 C in the northwestern town of Vidin. The country has halted all power exports due to the cold snap.

So far, 28 people have been killed in Bulgaria as a result of the weather, including eight who drowned when the icy waters of a small dam swept through their village of Biser in the southeast.

Serbian railways, meanwhile, said the famed Balkan Express train that runs from Belgrade to Istanbul would only go as far as Sofia for now because of the flooding in Bulgaria.

In the Czech Republic, another homeless man froze to death in Kolin, bringing the country's toll to 25, and forecasters said temperatures could plunge to -40 C in the mountains and -25 C in Prague on Saturday night.

Another blast of freezing weather was also predicted for Italy, even as soldiers worked to free villages trapped in three metres of snow and with the death toll from the cold snap already at 43.

Forecasts said freezing winds would pick up later Thursday and bring more snow on Friday and Saturday to Rome, just recovering from its biggest snowfall in decades.

In Ukraine, worst hit by the big freeze, ice over the Kerch Strait linking the Sea of Azov to the Black Sea has trapped 126 boats, 120 of them foreign, the emergencies ministry said.

Forecasters also said temperatures were expected to plunge further on the weekend, to as low as -30 C in some regions.

While many in Europe were fed up with the bitter cold, residents in the Netherlands were disappointed with a slight warming in that country that resulted in a legendary iceskating race along canals being cancelled.

The race has not been run since 1997.

The supposed ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.

The figures suggest that we could even be heading for a mini ice age to rival the 70-year temperature drop that saw frost fairs held on the Thames in the 17th Century.

Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997.

Solar output goes through 11-year cycles, with high numbers of sunspots seen at their peak.

We are now at what should be the peak of what scientists call ‘Cycle 24’ – which is why last week’s solar storm resulted in sightings of the aurora borealis further south than usual. But sunspot numbers are running at less than half those seen during cycle peaks in the 20th Century.

Analysis by experts at NASA and the University of Arizona – derived from magnetic-field measurements 120,000 miles beneath the sun’s surface – suggest that Cycle 25, whose peak is due in 2022, will be a great deal weaker still.

17,000 Stuck In Heavy Austrian Snows

More than 17,000 people are trapped in the Austrian town of Ischgl after the area was hammered with 10ft of snow in two days. More are said to be stranded in the resorts of Galtur, St Anton and Arlberg.

About 5.5 meters of fresh snow has closed sections of highways and isolated some towns since Thursday.

This follows the stranding of thousands in the Swiss ski resort of Zermatt less than a week ago when a major avalanche cut off all traffic, even helicopters.

Austria, southern German, France and Switzerland have seen freak snowfalls dumping up to 18ft of snow and blocking roads and railways.

The wild weather has resulted in some 76,000 households, hotels, pensions and guest houses struggling with power cuts and left thousands of visitors stranded.

Western Austria and southeastern Switzerland have been virtually paralysed by the ‘once-in-a-decade’ snowstorms.

Austrian weather service ZAMG said some places had not seen snow ‘so deep’ in more than 30 years, adding that the village of Nauders last saw a similar depth of 47in in 1951.

In Germany the 9,718ft Zugspitze summit, which had only 7.5 inches of snow six weeks ago, now has 150 inches (3.8 meters).

Britain was battered by gales of up to 165mph yesterday, leaving a trail of destruction across the country.

In one spectacular incident a 300ft wind turbine exploded in flames as it was buffeted by the high winds.

Another wind turbine was completely blown down on Wednesday, raising questions about whether wind farms were simply unable to cope with the weather.

The appalling conditions brought huge areas of the country to a standstill as lorries were blown over, roads and bridges closed, and ferries cancelled.

Science professor, a former global warming believer now denier, publishes groundbreaking paper to prove carbon dioxide cools, not warms our atmosphere.
Professor Nasif Nahle found something deeply troubling about the man-made global warming theory (AGW). He explains, “I started out wanting to debunk those deniers of science.”

Nahle had originally believed that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) were warming the atmosphere until he found an incorrect assumption on the Greenhouse Effect hypothesis.

Invited to attend a televised debate on the Indonesian Tsunami that addressed whether global warming was a factor in that catastrophe, Nahle checked the validity of calculations into the so-called greenhouse effect. “That was when I saw it was junk science.”

Surf's WAY Up In California

Massive waves slamming into California’s coast – killing at least one person and causing millions of dollars in damage – are being labelled the “New Zealand surf” because of where they are coming from.

In a rare event, a big weather system between New Zealand and Antarctica has generated a heavy Pacific wide swell, bringing the waves to California.

Sean Collins, chief forecaster and president of Surfline, told news website Patch.com he warned Californian authorities over the swell.

“Extra caution is urged to keep the public aware and safe from these large waves and associated rip currents.”

He said it was one of the biggest swells to hit with some waves coming ashore at six to seven metres.

Collins said southern hemisphere storms routinely produced waves in California, but this latest one was in the top 10 percent of known waves.

The US National Weather Service has warned beachgoers were urged to swim only near lifeguard towers – or to stay on the sand.

“Have a good time watching the waves but stay out of the water if you’re not experienced,” National Weather Service forecaster Eric Boldt said.

Record Snow Fall

One of the driest spots on earth experienced its heaviest snowfall in almost two decades this week, according to the Chilean Directorate of Meteorology (DMC).

A cold front brought up to 80 centimetres (31.5 inches) of snow to the Atacama desert region of South America forcing emergency services to close local roads and rescue dozens of motorists from their vehicles. The temperature in the Chilean capital, Santiago, dropped below minus 8c on Wednesday. Neighbouring Argentina and Uruguay also experienced subzero temperatures.

Located in the north of Chile, the Atacama Desert records less than 50mm of rain on average each year. Some weather stations in the region record only 1-3mm of rain each year.
