The Seattle City Council on Monday unanimously approved a resolution declaring its support for the Occupy movement’s campaign to limit economic insecurity and recognizing the movement's right to peaceful and lawful speech and assembly.
The resolution, introduced by Councilmember Nick Licata, looks to “minimize economic insecurity and destructive disparities." The council will seek to limit the undue influence of corporations and large businesses by undertaking a review of the city's banking practices and campaign finance rules.
