Great: so now, the US has the dubious distinction of being tied with Qatar, Croatia, and the UAE in newborn infant deaths?!?
Something is fundamentally wrong with a medical delivery system, which purports to be "the world's best" to have had this happen. There has to be a better way to prevent this, and these numbers are absolutely shameful.
Every baby deserves the best opportunity to live and thrive, and that means consistent prenatal care and counseling for the mother, and the best birthing/delivery enviornment possible.
NOTE: What causes the high newborn death rates in one country doesn't have to be the same in the other country. In Qatar it could be nutritionally based, in the US, it could be pharma or environmentally based
